ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

All progressive designers are aware of their impact on the natural world. Andrew works mainly in temperate hardwoods grown in Europe, North America and the British Isles - some from trees grown within a few miles of the workshop.

Tropical timbers are avoided unless they are either Forest Stewardship Council Certified, plantation-grown as a crop or reclaimed from old furniture that has reached the end of its useful life. Andrew is a member of Woodland Heritage, which is actively engaged in restoring Britain's native woodlands. 

​The workshop, which uses 100% renewable electricity supplied by Good Energy, has been awarded an Environmental Quality Mark by the Peak District National Park Authority.
